New Patients
Expect Something Positively Different
Many new patients are not sure what to expect during their first appointment, and we don’t want you to feel nervous. Whether you are new to chiropractic care in general or just new to Winkelmann Chiropractic & Injury, we want you to feel as comfortable as possible.
We have some answers to some commonly asked questions about your initial visits below, and we explain more in-depth about chiropractic care and our approach to your care and wellness on our chiropractic care page, but If you have any other questions at all, always feel free to ask us! Remember, we were all first-time patients once.
We are proud of the care that we give at Winkelman Chiropractic, and we would for you to experience Dr. Winkelmann’s care. Chiropractic care is safe, natural and effective, but not all chiropractors are the same.
Your First Visit
Your new patient appointment takes 20-30 minutes. It includes discussing what has brought you in with Dr. Winkelmann. Your examination may consist of X-rays if necessary. Children, teens or pregnant women do not have X-rays taken. If you have them, Dr. Winkelmann will look at them with you so that you can see what is wrong and how we will help you.
You will have a chiropractic adjustment unless X-rays show a contraindication to adjusting. You will remain clothed at all times. If you have had chiropractic before and prefer a particular technique, just let Dr. Winkelmann know. He is trained in several methods and wants to use what works best for you. If you have not been to a chiropractor, you will have every step detailed to you before your adjustment.

Your Second Visit
At your follow up visit, Dr. Winkelmann will give you an individualized care plan explaining the cause of your symptoms and how we can get you back to health. Along with your care plan, he will provide at-home exercises for you to help speed up the healing progress and provide additional information about chiropractic care.
Regular Visits
Your adjustment will not be the same every time. It is tailored to what you need at that particular visit. In total, your follow-ups will take 5-10 minutes.
We usually recommend some type of ongoing care once you’re out of pain. Chiropractic care may get you out of pain quickly, but continuing visits will maintain your progress and keep you from having future problems.

We work with all insurance companies, and we will bill insurance directly to make it as convenient as possible.
